We Took the CACFP Community to the Hill to Celebrate #CACFP50
The bipartisan CACFP 50th birthday reception hosted by the National CACFP Forum was a big success! Congresspeople, legislative staff and our national partners came out to talk about the impact of CACFP - helped us finish our mosaic created by pictures from all around our CACFP community and enjoy some non-creditable birthday cake.

The National CACFP Forum took the Child and Adult Care Food Program's 50th birthday celebration to Capitol Hill with a bipartisan reception on June 26th to celebrate the success of CACFP with Representative Bonamici (OR-D) and Representative Stefanik (NY-R). Representative Bonamici and Representative Stefanik have long been supporters of CACFP, including their introduction and sponsorship of the Early Childhood Nutrition Act (H.R. 3886) in 2015.
We've collected thousands of images from all across the nation to create a four foot mosaic birthday card. This mosaic, gives Congress and our organizational partners a glimpse into the CACFP community and this important program they support.
The Forum is excited that we had the opportunity to celebrate with Representative Bonamici, Representative Stefanik, and Representative McGovern as well as our partner organizations, including the National Women's Law Center, National Association for Family Child Care, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, and the Food Research and Action Center.

What Did We Do?CACFP's Giant 50th Birthday Card. We created a 4 foot mosaic birthday card to take with us to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., as we celebrate the CACFP with Congress.
What was the mosaic created with? Thousands of photos from all over the CACFP community. What is it going to look like? Look to the right...a four foot version of that. We finished the mosaic on Capitol Hill with Congresspeople, legislative staff and national partners. |
