“On Monday, June 27th, representatives from organizations ranging from the USDA to the Philadelphia Eagles all gathered to help kick-off the summer meals program at Saint Veronica School. The children at St. Veronica’s learned all about the importance of the summer meals program and the issue of summer nutrition from distinguished speakers such as Senator Bob Casey, Hunger Coalition Director Laura Wall, Patricia Dombrowski of the USDA, and NDS’s Anne Ayella. After hearing from the speakers, the children met Eagles cheerleaders, received peace buttons, and were served delicious and nutritious lunches by Senator Casey and Eagles Mascot SWOOP himself!” Senator Casey supports a strong CNR.
